Nashville based Singer/Songwriter/Musician Tyler Summers is a graduate of the University of North Texas where he spent two years playing with the GRAMMY winning One O’Clock Lab Band. An active musician and arranger in the Nashville music scene, Tyler has shared the stage with Aretha Franklin, Feist, Spoon, Johnny Reid, The O’Jays, 5th Dimension, Natalie Grant, Lee Ann Womack, and B Reith, among others. He has appeared on The Letterman Show, The Today Show, The Dove Awards, The Canadian Country Music Awards, and in front of over 45,000 people at the CMA Festival in Nashville, TN. Tyler recently has recorded for Jill Scott, Julie Roberts, Nine Days, and is currently on tour with Martina McBride.

 

As a songwriter, Tyler’s song “Mirror of a Man” was awarded for “Outstanding Lyrics” in American Songwriter Magazine. In 2008, he was commissioned to arrange and perform “Oh Canada” at the opening of the British Columbia Pavilion prior to the Beijing Olympics.

Originally from Langley, BC, Tyler was named “Rising Star” by Canada’s National Jazz Awards. As a clinician and educator, he has been involved in the Envision Jazz Festival, the Brandon Jazz Festival, Yamaha Music School, Trinity Western University, and the annual awarding of the Fraser MacPherson Scholarship.
